Wintuan Fishing Net Weights and Pestles

Fishing Net Weights and river-shaped rocks (part of a collection of rocks naturally shaped by the river)

The Wintuan peoples used this area for about the last 1500 years. They were excellent fisherman that shaped fishing net weights and modified other rocks by working and pecking a hole in them. The river naturally shaped the snake rock except that the eyes have been worked and pecked out to give it that look (left side). A Wintuan shaman likely had it as a good luck rock or for some other purpose.
